Anaconda Enterprise Test Drive
******************************

The Anaconda Enterprise Test Drive is available as a virtual machine in OVA
format. The virtual machine can be run with VirtualBox and makes it easy to test
drive the platform components within Anaconda Enterprise for up to 30 days.

Requirements
------------

* **Operating System:** Windows, Mac OS X or Linux.
* **CPU:** 64-bit machine with a CPU that has virtualization enabled.
* **Memory:** 2 GB RAM minimum (8 GB RAM recommended)
* **Disk space:** 30 GB free disk space.
* **Software:** Install the latest version of `VirtualBox 
  <https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads>`_ for your platform.

Install and start the Anaconda Enterprise Test Drive
----------------------------------------------------

1. `Sign up for the Anaconda Enterprise Test Drive 
   <http://know.anaconda.com/Anaconda-Enterprise-Test-Drive.html>`_ and receive 
   a welcome email with download information for the Anaconda Enterprise Test 
   Drive VM.

2. Download the latest version of the Anaconda Enterprise Test Drive, which is a 
   VM file named ``Anaconda-TrialVM.ova`` that can be imported into VirtualBox.

   NOTE: The VM image download is 13 GB, so a wired connection is recommended.

3. Start the Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager application.

4. In the VirtualBox menu, click on **File > Import**.

5. In the dialog box ``Appliance to import`` browse to and select the 
   ``Anaconda-TrialVM.ova`` VM file that you downloaded and click the 
   ``Continue`` button.

6. In the dialog box ``Appliance settings`` verify the VM settings and click the 
   ``Import`` button.

7. After the Anaconda Enterprise Test Drive VM has been imported, from the list 
   of VMs select ``Anaconda-TrialVM`` and click the ``Start`` button on the 
   toolbar.

8. After the VM has fully started, in the terminal window you'll see a splash 
   screen with information about the Anaconda Enterprise Test Drive.

Continue to the next section to connect to the Anaconda Enterprise Test Drive 
interface and use the Anaconda platform components.

Use the Anaconda Enterprise Test Drive
--------------------------------------

* On the same machine where the Anaconda Enterprise Test Drive VM is running, 
  **open your browser** and go to http://localhost:3000.

* **Take the tour**. To see the Anaconda platform in action, click the "Take 
  the tour" button and follow the steps described in the tour.

* **Explore** the Anaconda platform, including the collaborate, publish, and 
  deploy platform components using the logins shown on the welcome screen in 
  the Sample Accounts section. There are both user and admin logins.
