目錄架構

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 產品含有 7 片光碟片，其中含有安裝光碟與原始碼光碟。

您可以在大部分目前的系統上使用第一片光碟來開機進入安裝程式，該光碟中含有如下的目錄架構（這裡的 /mnt/cdrom 就是光碟機的掛載點）：

剩餘的安裝光碟都類似第一片光碟，不過它們只列出 RedHat 這個子目錄。

所有原始碼光碟的目錄架構如下：


/mnt/cdrom

假如您要設定用於 NFS、FTP 或 HTTP 安裝的安裝目錄，您必須複製所有的 RELEASE-NOTES 檔案以及所有安裝光碟中 RedHat 目錄下的所有檔案。 在 Linux 和 Unix 系統上，以下的步驟將會妥善地設定您伺服器上的 /target/directory 目錄（對每一片光碟重複相同的步驟）：

  1. 請放入光碟片，再鍵入以下指令

  2. mount /mnt/cdrom

  3. cp -a /mnt/cdrom/RedHat /target/directory

  4. cp /mnt/cdrom/RELEASE-NOTES* /target/directory （僅適用於第一片安裝光碟）

  5. umount /mnt/cdrom

安裝中所需注意事項

現在許多電腦都可以自動從光碟開機，假如您的機器也是這樣（並且已經設定好），您不需使用任何的開機片便能從 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 的第一片光碟直接開機。 開機後，將會啟動 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 的安裝程式，然後您將可以從光碟片進行系統安裝。

在 images/ 目錄中還有一個 boot.iso 檔案，這個檔案是要使用來開機 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 安裝程式的一個 ISO 映像檔案。 藉由使用這個檔案，您便不需要使用多片的磁片來啟動網路為主的安裝程式。 如要使用 boot.iso，您的電腦必須可以從光碟機開機，而且 BIOS 也必須設定為如此。 然後您便可以將 boot.iso 燒錄到一片空白的 CD-R/RW 上。
